Title: Bosch 800 vs Jura Z8 - So far, LOVE this Bosch
Review: We're a family of coffee lovers that have been using higher end Jura espresso machines for over 15 years but after the last Jura Z8 stopped working at 3 years and they wanted over $500 to fix it, we decided to try this less expensive 800 series with some cooler features from Bosch, an established brand name. I also want to say I have not been paid or given a free machine to review and here's our opinion after we’ve used for only a week . We'll need to see how it holds up over time so I’ll update in 6 months.PRO's vs JURA – There are MANY!- GREAT PRICE: Bought on prime day for $1299 which is almost 1/3 the price of a high-end Jura.- BETTER TASTING COFFEE USING LESS BEANS: Coffee is a lot stronger and better tasting than our Z8; not sure how they do this! So far, we're also using less beans. I think they do this double brewing which must save beans but doesn’t degrade the taste at all.- NICE BIG BRIGHT DIGITAL SCREEN: No comparison to the Jura (although I know Jura is starting to go with better screens on expensive higher end models). LOVE the digital Bosch screen and how you can easily personalize your favorites. One of my favorite features was reading what each type of international coffee was and seeing where they came from then trying them out. As an example, the Americano is nothing we’ve tasted before. The darker coffee-infused foam is so cool and very, very tasty! I used to always have to use sweeteners but finding that the taste of the coffee drink alone is good enough. I also love how they have cold brew options.- AVAILABLE APP: We’re a techie family, and to be honest, love anything with connectability. We haven’t tried a remote coffee yet, since we typically use milk, but like the option. The APP also has other yummy drinks. We can't wait to try the espresso martini. Still diving into what else the app offers but the cool thing is, updates could bring newer options and drinks. I’m sure Jura will get this soon if they don’t already have it, but probably on more expensive models.- NICE MILK TUBE: Having a place to hold your milk inlet tube on the machine is a nice touch (not on Jura). We decided not to get the model with the attached milk container since we are a family that uses different milk types: 1% milk, soy and almond, so didn’t make sense.- MECHANISM’S EASY ACCESSIBILITY: Love the ability to pull out the inside mechanisms for cleaning if needed. On Jura, it is very difficult to clean the inside. You can't even see the tampering piece which is one of the most important parts of the machine and what we think got clogged on our last jura.- GOOD SIZE: Same exact size as our Jura Z8 so fits perfectly in the space.- WARMING TRAY: Love the option (not on Jura), but not sure it keeps it that warm. We'll need to try this out more.- ADJUSTABLE SPOUT FOR TALLER GLASSES: Even though it states only 5-1/2 “ of space, fits tall glasses a little over 6”. This is about the same as Jura, so happy it was more than we expected.- A LOT OF SPACE IN WATER RESERVOIR: Same as Jura so that was nice.CON's vs JURA – Keeping in mind that many are due to the lower price point and not enough of a con to lower my star rating.- BOSCH IS NEW TO THIS MARKET: Although Bosch is a trusted brand name, they appear to be new in the high-end espresso machine market so only time will. Jura's customer service is excellent, so we'll have to see if Bosch's is as well.- INTERNAL & EXTERNAL PARTS ARE NOT AS HIGH END: Outside softer plastic covering could scratch easily. Bosch has softer plastics vs heavier plastic/metal pieces but that’s expected with such a big price difference. Time will tell if they hold up and how they look later.- WARRANTY NOT AS GOOD: Jura is 2 years vs Bosch’s 1 year.- SOME FEATURES NOT AUTOMATED: The hand selecting grind on top and having to submerse the filter yourself to get water inside before placement are not automated, but this is not that big of a deal since it’s a lesser price but wanted to mention it.- PULL OUT WASTEWATER TRAY IS SMALLER: Need to empty more often which is slightly annoying. However, it is nice that the bean tray doesn’t sit right on top of the water tray like Jura. That created issues on our Jura.- MILK ATTACHMENT KNOB MAY BE TOO FLIMSY: The knob on the machine for the milk inlet tube placement seems a little flimsy. We remove the tube and put back 3-4x a day so worried it could fail, but again, we’ll see.- BEAN CONTAINER A LITTLE AWKWARD AND SEEMS SMALLER: Even though the bean capacity stated larger than our Jura Z8, it seems smaller. Jura’s is much easier to fill without obstacles like a screen that comes all the way to the top like Bosch’s and odd small spaces on the side to fill, but we are working around that.- NOT AS MANY SENSORS AS JURA: doesn’t have all the bells and whistles with sensors, like when tops are off of the bean tray, drip tray and water reservoir, but I’m OK with this especially with the lower price tag.

Title: Love Love Love
Review: My husband and I have spent HOURS over the past couple years researching automatic coffee machines but we were never willing to pull the trigger because of so many negative reviews for the Phillips and DeLonghi brands. If you’re gonna pay over a grand for a coffee machine, it better not have basic issues with things like leaking and temperature. Machine size and profile were also an issue for us. We decided to just wait it out, hoping something amazing would hit the market eventually. Well -- IT HAS! This machine is exactly what we had hoped for and more. Other reviewers have hit most of the main points but after using this machine for over a month, my favorite parts, besides making the best coffee I’ve had from any machine, are 1) The amazing digital touch screen and prompts (very user-friendly), 2) the vast selection of drinks with detailed descriptions and customization options, 3) the self-cleaning functions 4) the milk feature 5) the large water container that is SUPER easy to remove and reattach without spillage, 6) the favorites menu feature, 7) the hot water option (electric tea kettle no longer needed!). You can slide the bean cover completely off -- it isn't attached -- so you don't have to worry as much about height space when filling the beans. I didn't get the milk container and recommend that you don't either -- you just don't need it. The connection hose is flexible and sturdy, brilliantly sits in the tray, and you can easily place it directly in a quart of milk to minimize having to clean an extra container or stash it in the fridge. It is a very sweet feature! (Note that the manual recommends you do NOT use anything with cream.) I initiate a cleaning cycle just for the milk system after every couple drinks for peace of mind (it’s only 2 minutes). I make espresso, coffee, lattes, cappuccino, macchiatos, and many other varieties. It's super fun and easy to try them all! The only real negative for me is that you cannot create your own drink milk ratios. You can easily adjust them, but there are limitations. For example, the lowest milk ratio for a latte is 30% milk, which is still too much for me. And there is no other coffee drink option with less milk. I called support and they said Bosch may update this in the future, and with the handy digital app, I should automatically receive any software updates. SUPER NICE! In the mean time, I just add a shot of espresso to my latte and it's a home run. The coffee temperature is indeed hot (129 deg F) which is a priority for us (slow brew is 158 deg F). Many other machines apparently fall short on that, but we were not disappointed! And you can adjust the temperature. The manual is sparse which was a surprise because there are some nice features that you have to discover on your own. For example, when you select a drink, you will get a customization screen, but then if you click on the drink name in that screen, it shows you a description of the drink… kinda important but not obvious. I didn’t find that kind of detailed info in the product description or on their website either. I called customer service once (about my milk ratio question), was connected to a real person quickly, was passed around a bit, but I eventually got to the right place and they were helpful. It was definitely nice to get real people. Slight learning curve on emptying the drip tray so be patient. Pull the whole thing out at once with your hand underneath to support the end and tilt it slightly toward you. When you get to the sink, tilt it away from you and the water pours out of the channel on the left side. Then just reinsert the whole piece — no need to take it apart unless you want to rinse it. So far, we are SUPER impressed, super happy, and so so glad we waited patiently for this beauty. I hope it continues to perform well because so far, it’s definitely worth its pretty penny!

Title: Do NOT recommend
Review: First - this unit makes the best coffee and coffee drinks in any automatic coffeemaker I’ve tried. Hands down the best. So why the 1-star review?Every time I turn on the unit - EVERY TIME - I get an error that the unit cannot start and I must unplug the machine to reboot it. That works, but that’s ridiculous for a machine I’ve had one week. Who’s to say the problem won’t get worse? But that’s not the reason for the 1-star review. I contacted Bosch customer service through their email link and, to date, have received no response at all. None. That’s not acceptable. Is there an inherent problem they cannot fix and don’t want to acknowledge? So I recommend that you look at other manufacturers. The Phillips unit is decent, check it out instead.Just my opinion.UPDATE. I finally heard back from customer service. Seems I am the “first” one to have this issue (not true, I’ve seen this elsewhere). Now I have to send it back for service. Absolute nonsense. Unit is 9 days old and I have to ship it in.

Title: Best Automatic Coffee Machine
Review: I was very close to returning this coffee maker because when I opened it, it looked like a huge piece of black plastic, we didn't have any black color appliances. However, the coffee maker works extremely well, beyond my expectations and I am glad I kept it. My wife loves how easy it is to make cappuccinos and lattes. For us, it's worth it because it is truly fully automated, with multiple options to customize each type of coffee. Best coffee maker ever.

Title: Love it
Review: Really enjoying this machine. Makes assortment of great coffee drinks quickly and easily. Great espresso, Americano, straight coffee drinks and the included hose froths mill for cappuccino, lattes etc. Even makes cold brew. Expensive but worth it.
