Title: Many different ethnic foods
Review: The book has recipes for probably most , if not all, ethnic backgrounds. Although quite heavy in oriental foods, there are plenty of European and southern Asian foods to make this a book you may really want. Recipes from China, Mongolia, Tibet, India, Sweden, Italy and Germany, to name a few, there will be something you like as well as others that you just have to try. We are trying to make as many as we dare but on our way to make at least half if not more. They even have a soup recipe for when you have a cold or flu to help you get your proper nourishment (never see that in a cookbook before). Overall, we are extremely happy with the purchase.

Title: Great recipes but the index is a disaster
Review: I would give this book five stars for thr recipes, as the ricotta dumplings and chicken gyoza were delicious. But what is up with the index? It is a complete jumble of partially nonalphabetical listings. "Chicken gyoza," for example, is in the index in the "P" section. Misplaced words are rampant throughout the index, but it's only 3 pages long so I have been skimming the whole thing to find what I need. Delicious food is my priority, and for that this little book wins!

Title: Good but almost great!
Review: I just purchased this book and have begun to go through the recipes. I am a huge fan of "packaged foods" like dumplings, spring rolls, egg rolls and the like. In the front of the book there are recipes for the most common pastry/wrappers in further chapters the author introduces different categories of fillings. The book covers (to name a few); gnocchi, spätzle, matzo balls, hush puppies, bow, wontons, samosa, pierogi, takayuki, gyoza, empanadas and Cornish pasties and much more.If I could change two things it would be: 1) state up front the cultural origin of the dumpling and 2) state upfront the pastry/wrapper being used, I think I would want to make these in advance.I think this is a really well put together/designed book which also has really well thought through/researched recipes.I will try some of the recipes during the holidays
